Laboratory Engineer I

NETZSCH Premier Technologies, LLC is looking for a Laboratory Engineer I to provide support to sales activities by interacting with customers and performing lab tests to meet customer objectives and requirements.


  • Coordinates, and directs testing for research, product development, and improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Oversees and implements equipment set-up and operating conditions for test.
  • Observes and recognizes changes in process variables and performs appropriate adjustments.
  • Sets up and operates analytical equipment which are used to measure physical properties of products during lab testing.
  • Tests materials used as ingredients in various chemical formulations including paint and ink, food and pharmaceutical compounds and evaluates properties such as particle size, purity, stability, viscosity, density, absorption, and melting or flash point for proper implementation of test lab equipment.
  • Reviews technical data from research, testing, quality control, and other operational reports to ensure that quality standards, efficiency, and schedules are met.
  • Oversees preparation of equipment and laboratory area for test, including dismantling and cleaning of equipment.  
  • Directs / performs changes in operating parameters to meet test objectives. 
  • Records test results on standardized forms, or via computer entry and describes procedures used.
  • Prepares preliminary test report and summary for review by Laboratory Manager.
  • Works with customers and the sales force to interpret the results of the test and recommends further steps.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely matter; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; work well in group problem solving situations


  • Four Year degree (BS/BA) in an Engineering discipline.  
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specification sheets and procedures, general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports summarize test procedures and data.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
