Electrical/Automation Engineer

Position Summary:
NETZSCH Premier Technologies, LLC is looking for an Electrical/Automation Engineer to create and modify electrical schematics and other documentation.  This position will also assist Automation engineers with functional testing and troubleshooting of machine and process control programs along with writing design documents and creating operating instruction manuals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assistance to Electrical Engineering in the creation of IEC & NEC style schematics.
  • Update existing drawings to capture “AS BUILT” changes.
  • Review electrical schematics and to be able to assist field service engineers with questions relating to the designs that may make occur during commissioning.
  • Apply agency guidelines such as UL, CSA, NFPA, CE etc. to electrical designs.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Provide assistance to shop electricians.
  • Work with already existing designs and logic to make minor changes to provide solutions for equipment with subtle minor changes from standard equipment.
  • Update existing documentation standards to provide design documents for new equipment orders.
  • Load control software into HMI and PLC and provide initial commissioning of instruments and control components.
  • Visit customer sites for start-up, commissioning and system support, both in the United States and overseas.  Visit vendor sites and NETZSCH affiliated companies as required.
  • Investigate customer complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measure.
  • Review and advise engineering information with sales department. 
  • Assist shop personnel in troubleshooting equipment as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with automated control systems and troubleshooting of automation equipment.
  • Experience with automation programming software Rockwell, Siemens and others as projects require. 
  • Must have previous experience and proficiency in AutoCAD or EPlan
  • Must understand programming of PLC’s, HMI’s and OPC servers.
  • Experience in sourcing electrical components and preparing bills of materials.
  • Strong knowledge in reading and developing P&ID’s.
  • Hands on experience in selecting of process instruments (Pressure, Level, Flow & Temperatures).
  • Good knowledge of electricity; low and medium voltage and electrical formula calculations.
  • The ability to travel up to 30%
