Numerous initiatives have already been developed in all three business units in order to consistently put this approach into practice. NETZSCH optimizes recycling rates, reduces waste, and develops innovative solutions for a sustainable value chain. 

Customers benefit from durable products, fewer maintenance costs, and the ability to specifically replace individual components, which strengthens sustainability along the entire product life cycle.

Sustainable Service Concept

The unlimited warranty was introduced in the Analyzing & Testing business unit as a service that creates sustainability-related added value. An unlimited warranty is provided for selected thermal analysis, rheology, and fire testing devices subject to an existing maintenance contract. The offer promotes regular maintenance and the long-term use of the systems, extends their technical service life, and reduces material-intensive replacement investments.

Resource Conservation Through Spare Parts Availability

The durability of NETZSCH pumps is reflected in the long-term availability of original spare parts, even after over 50 years. Several pump series are designed for continuous operation and make it possible to continue using existing equipment. This helps to conserve resources by avoiding material intensive replacement investments.

Clear Commitment to Avoiding Plastic Pollution

At the NETZSCH Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. site in Chennai (India), pumps are packaged in biodegradable plastic film. This specifically replaces conventional plastic packaging with an alternative packaging material. The film used decomposes naturally after use and helps to reduce pollution, especially at the end of the product life cycle. 

Transition to Water-Based Paint

The use of more environmentally friendly painting systems at the NETZSCH (Lanzhou) Pumps Co., Ltd. site in Lanzhou (China) is being systematically expanded. The aim is to gradually substitute materials that contain solvents with input materials that have a lower environmental and health impact. In the fiscal year 2025, the total paint consumption came to 20,100 kg, made up of 73.6% water-based paints and 26.4% oil-based paints. The transition from oil to water-based paint increasingly replaces toxic, harmful, and polluting substances with more environmentally friendly alternatives.

Environment Week Promotes Waste Reduction

At NETZSCH do Brasil Indústria e Comércio Ltda. in Pomerode (Brazil), Environment Week 2025 focused on reducing plastic waste. This was done by raising awareness of plastic pollution and providing specific suggestions for action. Specialist lectures, an exhibition on the environmental impacts of plastics, and the presentation of sustainable alternatives provided practical knowledge.

World Environment Day – Ending Global Plastic Pollution

The NETZSCH Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. site in Chennai (India) used World Environment Day to raise awareness of the consequences of plastic pollution. Employees received reusable fabric bags and presented ideas on how to reuse plastic within the scope of the Reengineering Plastic Contest. The day concluded with a joint clean-up operation in the surrounding area.
