NETZSCH Invests Around 70 Million Euros in Selb Site

New corporate campus to be completed by 2028 – Strengthening of the Grinding & Dispersing business unit – Focus on sustainability and future technologies

The NETZSCH Group is making a clear commitment to its Selb site and is investing around 70 million euros in a comprehensive redevelopment of its company premises on Gebrüder-Netzsch-Straße. By 2028, the “NETZSCH Campus Selb” will be established – a forward-looking corporate campus featuring a technology center, an administration building, and an energy hub on a construction site of approximately 36,000 m².

“Our employees are the backbone of our success – their expertise is the reason we’re investing in Selb,” emphasizes Moritz Netzsch. At the same time, he points out that investments of this magnitude in Germany can no longer be taken for granted in the context of global competition.

The first construction phase includes the NETZSCH Application Center – a state-of-the-art, two-story technology center for food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and battery applications. It meets the highest standards for process safety and hygiene, particularly for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries. NETZSCH will also be the first mechanical engineering company to have its own dedicated application area for active battery materials. The new building brings together existing application areas of the Grinding & Dispersing business unit and offers ample space for seminars, testing, meetings, and social interaction.

In the second construction phase, a new, three-story administration building will be built, providing modern working environments for around 400 employees. In addition to generous communication and event spaces, it will also feature a new company cafeteria. The current administrative buildings will remain in use until the new structure is ready for occupancy, ensuring that ongoing operations will not be disrupted during the entire construction process.

A central element of the campus concept is its consistent focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. The new energy hub will manage centralized energy systems for the site. The use of renewable energy sources, combined with the recovery of process energy, marks another milestone on the path to decarbonization. From the construction phase onward and throughout the entire lifecycle of the buildings, NETZSCH is committed to using resources responsibly and efficiently.
